What is Singapore Biennale 2025?

Since 2006, the Singapore Biennale has celebrated contemporary art by engaging the public with art collectives and organisations, both local and international, through a festival of curated exhibitions and educational programmes.
This year, Singapore Biennale 2025, or SB2025, spotlights contemporary art installations in various public spaces and venues across the city for you to discover, on display until 29 March 2026. Explore this year’s theme of Pure Intention as you reflect on Singapore’s layered history, riveting culture and growing communities through these artworks, in conjunction with SG60.
Embark on four art-filled walking trails with your partner
To guide you in learning about these artworks while rediscovering Singapore’s landscape, SB2025 has organised the installations into four self-guided walking trails spanning different iconic locations, each with storied venues and unique significances.
For couples who appreciate contemporary art, these walking trails are great for engaging with arts as you choose your own adventures within familiar environments. Plus, you can enjoy most of these trails and artworks for free!
Here’s a breakdown of each trail and what interests they suit.
Rail Corridor Trail: For scenic nature and nostalgic photo spots

Explore historic train tracks amidst lush greenery and wildlife along the 24-km long Rail Corridor, known for its outdoor hiking trails, Instagrammable bridges and wildlife views.
The Rail Corridor walking trail lets couples enhance their journey with serene contemporary art installations that naturally blend into the fields of Wessex Estate and benches of Tanglin Halt, as well as finding nostalgic artworks and installations nestled amid old-school shophouses.
Suggested for those with the Intention to Love, this trail is definitely date-approved by SB2025, creating many sweet moments for couples to bask in nature, take eye-catching photographs and reminisce together.
Civic District Trail: For thriving arts and rich heritage finds

Gain a newfound appreciation for all things history and culture in the bustling Civic District, where old colonial monuments and the city’s enduring art galleries house a myriad of national treasures.
Set out on SB2025’s Civic District Walking Trail to admire grand sculptures and thought-provoking multimedia installations of light and sound, as you roam Fort Canning Park’s historic grounds, art exhibitions in National Gallery and local eateries at the Adelphi.
If you have the Intention to Explore, you will be continually amazed by rich heritage landmarks, iconic arts centres and culinary delights that slip under most radars, and leave with fun stories to tell.
Orchard Trail: For visual experiences and exciting sprees

Stroll through the beloved, vintage shopping hubs and social gathering hotspots of Orchard, a stone’s throw from the typical metropolitan buzz of Orchard’s malls and roads.
Immerse in visually captivating art experiences on the Orchard Trail, where you can engage with vivid space recreations and creative art films within pockets of Lucky Plaza, Far East Shopping Centre and the former Raffles Girls’ School campus, while making pit stops for Indonesian, Filipino and Hainanese delicacies.
Crafted by SB2025 for those with the Intention to Bond, couples can meaningfully connect through installations that redefine the arts, while uncovering delicious food in this charming side of Orchard.
Singapore Art Museum Trail: For introspective conversations

No art date is complete without a trip to the museum, where the arts constantly evoke memories in rich expression in evolving forms and styles.
Journey on the walking trail at Singapore Art Museum, the organiser of SB2025 and a thriving arts centre itself, gives you a respite from the everyday to instead reflect on movement and memories, be it via unique multimedia exhibitions, stored photographs and zines, or sculpted foods.
Though this trail was made for the solo Intention to Wander, we recommend carving out time with your partner to appreciate modern art in this focused environment made for art and art lovers.
Note: This is the only walking trail that requires ticketed entry. Tickets to visit the Singapore Art Museum are free-of-charge for local-based students and teachers, $10 for concession rates (NSFs, seniors and overseas students/teachers), and $15 for adults.
